Law Enforcement Unite Behind Supervisor Ding’s “Actions Not Words” Safety Platform

The San Joaquin County Deputy Sheriff ’s Association (DSA) has officially endorsed Supervisor Steve Ding, citing his unwavering commitment to public safety and his “actions not words” approach to fighting crime.

In a strong statement of support, DSA President Brian McElwain emphasized the critical need for leadership that prioritizes the safety of residents. “We need to encourage collaboration between cops and residents to send a message to criminals that there will be no place to hide in our county,” said McElwain. “Law enforcement is confident that Steve Ding will make public safety a top priority for San Joaquin County as supervisor.”

The endorsement comes at a time when public safety remains the top concern for District 4 voters. The San Joaquin County Probation Officers Association has also thrown their weight behind Ding stating, “He supports arresting criminals and opposes dangerous policies that allow them to walk free.”

Supervisor Ding accepted the endorsements with a pledge to restore the rule of law. “I will not let the residents of San Joaquin down,” Ding said. “My commitment is to make San Joaquin a safe zone for all its citizens. I will support the arrest and prosecution of all crimes, petty or serious. There will be no free ride for anyone in this county.”

Ding has consistently argued that movements to defund the police and eliminate bail requirements have directly contributed to rising crime rates. His platform focuses on hiring enough deputies to patrol effectively and ensuring that repeat offenders face real consequences.
