California CIF High School Boys Basketball Playoffs: Southern Section Kicks Off

California’s highly anticipated CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) high school boys basketball playoffs commence this Wednesday evening, spotlighting the Southern Section Open Division.

Premier Teams and Matchups

Five squads featured in the Sporting News latest high school boys basketball rankings, including the No. 9 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, CA), are gearing up to compete in the Southern Section. Sierra Canyon will face off against the Crespi Celts (Encino, CA) in Pool A during the first-round games. Other top contenders in this bracket of teams include the Corona del Mar Sea Kings (Newport Beach, CA), Notre Dame SO Knights (Sherman Oaks, CA), and St. John Bosco Braves (Bellflower, CA).

  • February 11: First-round games begin at 7 p.m. PST
  • February 13: Game 2 at 7 p.m. PST
