Oregon Men’s Golf Team Prepares for The Prestige Tournament
LA QUINTA, Calif. – The Oregon men’s golf team is gearing up to kick off its spring season at the prestigious The Prestige Tournament, starting on February 16. This three-day event will take place at the renowned Greg Norman Course at PGA West and features a challenging 54-hole, par 72 format.
Performance History at The Prestige
The Ducks have had a regular presence at The Prestige, where they demonstrated solid performance last year, finishing tied for ninth with a score of 2-over 854. Aiden Krafft was a standout player, leading the lineup by achieving two rounds under par and finishing with a cumulative score of 3-under 210. This year, Tim Chang aims to improve his results in his second appearance at this esteemed venue.

Recent Achievements
The Ducks recently showcased their prowess at the Amer Ari Invitational, where they recorded their lowest team score of the season at 31-under 833, tying for the seventh lowest score in program history. Their impressive second-round score of 16-under 272 also matches a historic mark for the team. Notable highlights from this tournament include Casper Nerpin achieving a career-low round of 67 and Tim Chang registering a personal best of 6-under 66. Nerpin’s remarkable performance featured three eagles during the first two rounds, propelling the team to a 12th place finish.

- Casper Nerpin (Sr.): Achieved three eagles in the Amer Ari Invitational.
- Tim Chang (So.): Delivered a career-best of 6-under 66 at the Amer Ari Invitational.
- Kyreece Romero (Jr.): Recorded a personal low of 67 in the third round at the 2023 Husky Invitational.
Past Successes of Oregon Golfers
Both Sebastian Desoisa and Oscar Lent made impressive contributions to the team. Lent made his mark by clinching a share of the title at the Tindall Individual Tournament with a splendid 9-under 207. Desoisa shone brightly during the fall season, earning the individual medalist accolade at the Cal Poly Invitational with an outstanding performance that recorded 17-under 199, the fifth-lowest score in Oregon history.
Celebrating Experience
Head Coach Casey Martin, who is currently in his 20th season with the Ducks, brings invaluable experience to the team, having led Oregon to 18 NCAA Regionals and 11 NCAA Championship appearances, including the championship title in 2016. Under his guidance, the Ducks have achieved a competitive record of 2,414-1,198-42.
