Carroll College Cheer and Dance Teams Kick Off Second Competitive Seasons
HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll College Cheer and Dance teams are set to embark on their second competitive seasons this Saturday, heading to Fullerton, California, for the prestigious Royal Rumble Invitational hosted by Hope International University.
Building on a Successful Foundation
After a successful inaugural season in 2025, both teams are eager to capitalize on their momentum as they aim to enhance their skills and achievements in 2026.
Carroll Dance Team Overview
The Carroll Dance Team enters its second season under the guidance of Head Coach Faith Edmister. This year, the roster showcases a mix of talent, including five enthusiastic freshmen and four dedicated returning members. Notably, Emma Boharski, a part of the inaugural competitive team, has transitioned into a coaching role, assisting Edmister in nurturing the team’s growth.
The highlight of the previous season was the team’s first-ever victory, where they triumphed over Lewis-Clark State, winning 73.45-70.1 in a dual meet at the PE Center. With their sights set high, the Fighting Saints aim to further increase their win total this year.
Upcoming Competitions for the Dance Team
Carroll’s 2026 competition calendar is jam-packed, beginning with the Royal Rumble Invitational. Following this, they’ll host the Halo Cup in Helena on February 7, compete against Bismarck State in Dickinson, North Dakota, and finish the season with a return to Lewiston, Idaho, to face LC State in March.
Cheer Team Dynamics
On the cheerleading front, the Carroll Cheer team is led by Brooklyn Purcell, a passionate first-year head coach and proud alumna of the college. Purcell is committed to injecting enthusiasm and a fresh perspective into the program.
The 2026 Carroll Cheer squad consists of nine returning athletes and seven newcomers. This blend of experienced cheerleaders and fresh talent is poised to elevate the team’s performance and spirit this season.
Royal Rumble Invitational: A Busy Weekend
The Royal Rumble Invitational promises to be an exhilarating event as both teams dive into four distinct competitions on Saturday. The day includes:
- A tri-competition against Hope International and Simpson University.
- Dual matches with both institutions.
- A concluding three-way competition.
