Welcome to Region E – San Diego! This area represents one of California’s most dynamic and inclusive social work communities. From the stunning beaches to the vibrant borderlands, San Diego social workers are leading the charge in innovation, equitable practices, and culturally responsive care. Our mission is to cultivate collaboration, promote ongoing education, and advocate effectively across all practice levels.

Meet Your Regional Leadership Team

Regional Director: Lynn Waldman-Flax, LCSW

Term: 2023-2026
Lynn Waldman-Flax has been a proud member of the NASW since obtaining her MSW in 1990. As the owner and clinical director of the San Diego Divorce Counseling Center since 2011, Lynn is a key figure in collaborative practice, having served as the president of the San Diego Collaborative Practice and held various roles on the NASW-CA Board. Her experience includes significant roles at Child Welfare Services and numerous accolades for her contributions to the profession, including the CP Cal Eureka Award in 2021.

Assistant Regional Director: CJ Henoch, LCSW

CJ Henoch

Term: 2025-2028
CJ Henoch earned his MSW from Loma Linda University in 2018 and achieved his LCSW in 2023. With experience as a wraparound facilitator and medical social worker, CJ excels in advocacy and coordination of care within various community organizations. His role ensures that multidisciplinary teams generate effective, holistic action plans for families in need.

Region E Virtual Connection

Connect with the Region E leadership and fellow San Diego social workers during our Region E Virtual Connection! This monthly gathering allows members to network, share updates, and build community—all from the comfort of their own homes.

  • Meetings: Monthly on the 4th Friday (excluding holidays)
  • Open to: All Region E members
