NC State Wrestling Dominates CSU Bakersfield with a 43-3 Victory
GILROY, Calif. – The eighth-ranked NC State wrestling team showcased their prowess on Sunday afternoon, achieving a convincing 43-3 victory against CSU Bakersfield. This win marks the second triumph in their trip to the West Coast, bringing the Wolfpack’s season record to 11 wins.
Match Highlights
In the dual meet staged at Gilroy High School, NC State proved to be formidable as they clinched victory in nine of the ten weight classes. Notably, the team excelled in scoring with a remarkable eight bouts ending in bonus points, including:
- Two falls
- Four technical falls
- Two major decisions
Freshman Standout: Jason Kwaak
One of the standout performances came from freshman Jason Kwaak, competing at 157 pounds. Kwaak secured a decisive win against his opponent, further solidifying his place in the lineup for the second time this season.
In addition, Isaac Trumble capped off the dual with his fourth fall of the season. Trumble has been on fire, amassing bonus points in seven out of his nine matches.
