Northern California Weather Forecast: A Dry Monday Ahead

Northern California is set to enjoy a pleasant and dry Monday following a lovely weekend. Meteorologists predict seasonable temperatures, light breezes, and a few clouds for the region. Those who appreciated Sunday’s weather can expect more of the same as highs in the Valley reach the mid to upper 60s.

Temperature Outlook

In detail, temperatures in the Valley will peak in the mid to upper 60s, with foothills seeing similar conditions. The Sierra temperatures will range from the upper 40s to low 50s. Coastal hills may experience scattered showers, while winds will remain mild, with breezy conditions reaching up to 15 mph at times.

Rain Forecast for Tuesday

However, a significant change is on the horizon as a large trough of low pressure moves in, bringing tropical moisture and increasing the likelihood of rain overnight into Tuesday. This system will be heightened by an atmospheric river, expected to deliver warm precipitation. Snow levels will begin at around 6,500 feet and may rise to 10,000 feet, resulting in only a few inches of wet snow at higher elevations.

This rain event is anticipated to affect the entire region, making Tuesday an Impact Day. The Valley is expected to receive approximately 0.25 to 0.50 inches of rain, while the foothills may see as much as 1.5 inches. In the Sierra, total precipitation could reach up to 2.5 inches, primarily in the form of rain.

Midweek Weather

While some showers are likely to persist into the early hours of Wednesday, dry conditions are expected for the remainder of the week. Although clouds will linger, high temperatures are projected to rise into the upper 60s by Friday, providing a brisk end to the week.

Upcoming Weekend Showers

As the weekend approaches, the forecast anticipates another round of showers, keeping the pattern dynamic. For additional information on weather patterns in California, check local meteorological resources or explore the latest updates on weather.com.

Summary

In summary, Monday promises dry and enjoyable weather for Northern California, with atmospheric changes leading to rain on Tuesday. Keep an eye on upcoming forecasts as conditions evolve throughout the week.
