Camden Hyde Named to Allstate NACDA Good Works Team

THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF., Feb. 24, 2026 — California Lutheran University is proud to announce that junior basketball player Camden Hyde has earned a coveted spot on the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team for the winter season. This prestigious recognition from the Allstate National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) highlights Hyde’s exceptional contributions to community service, academics, and athletics.

Commitment to Community Service

Hyde’s passion for service is evident in his numerous initiatives on and off campus. The dual-sport athlete is known for promoting a positive and community-oriented atmosphere at California Lutheran University. He founded The Alternative, a student organization designed to create a supportive environment through activities such as Bible studies, worship nights, and community service projects.

“I am honored to be recognized for this team,” said Hyde. “My goal has always been to love others in such a way that brings about positive change. Following Jesus has shown me that we should all strive to contribute positively to our broken world.”

Academic and Athletic Excellence

In addition to his community service, Hyde maintains a remarkable academic record with a 3.95 GPA. His dedication to both his studies and athletic performance has led him to notable achievements. As a captain of the basketball team, he has played a key role in leading the Kingsmen to multiple NCAA playoff appearances. Additionally, he earned First Team All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) honors in the high jump as a member of the track and field team.

Recognition from Coaches and Athletic Directors

Hyde’s impact has not gone unnoticed. Head men’s basketball coach Russell White praised him as a “true servant leader” and expressed how lucky the program has been to have him. “We need more Camdens in this world. I can’t wait to see how he makes the world a better place in the future,” White remarked.

Howard Davis, Associate Vice President and Athletic Director, added, “Cal Lutheran Athletics is so proud of Camden’s earning of this prestigious award. Camden embodies the ideal of student-athletes who excel academically, athletically, and in community service.”

Name, Image, and Likeness Opportunities

As part of the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team recognition, Hyde will receive a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal. This initiative allows college athletes to monetize their personal brand through endorsements and appearances, providing a platform to further amplify his commitment to community service and leadership.

Conclusion

Camden Hyde’s recognition as a member of the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team exemplifies the spirit of service, academic achievement, and athletic prowess that defines California Lutheran University. His contributions to the community and dedication to his personal growth demonstrate that student-athletes can make significant impacts both on and off the court.
