FRESNO, Calif. – The University of Tennessee at Martin (UT Martin) equestrian team encountered challenges on their final road swing for the 2025-26 regular season. On this day, they faced two formidable competitors: No. 8 Fresno State and No. 10 Baylor. The Skyhawks fell short in both meetups, concluding with a score of 16-4 against Fresno State and 12-4 against Baylor.

Skyhawks Shine Despite Losses

Despite the overall team losses, several riders from UT Martin showcased impressive performances. Three riders finished their events undefeated, marking a highlight in an otherwise challenging day.

• Ruby Gunderson and Ava Jo Glenn each achieved victory in horsemanship, while Stevie Brown secured a win in reining.

In the Fresno State competition, Gunderson’s victory in horsemanship registered an impressive score of 71.25 points. Glenn followed closely with a stellar 72-point performance. Other riders contributing to the lineup included:

Competitive Edge at Baylor

In their matchup against Baylor, the Skyhawks excelled in horsemanship, capturing three out of four points. Gunderson registered a 73-point win, while Glenn achieved her fifth consecutive victory with a score of 72.25 points. Veale and Wynn also contributed valuable scores of 73.75 points and 72.75 points respectively.

In reining, Brown maintained her winning streak, delivering a score of 67.5 points, which marked her sixth win of the season. Others in the reining lineup included Mason (68.5 points), Tibbits (67.25 points), and Carpenter (67 points).

Fences and Flat Event Updates

In the fences category, Averey Pritchard led with 83 points, supported by DeGenova (80 points), Morris (69 points), and Mills (68 points). In the flat section, DeGenova’s score of 71.5 points topped the team, followed by Lydia Jordan (71), Camille Panuwat (69.5), and Shelby Davis (64).
