An unexpected heatwave is sweeping across Southern California this week, promising to bring temperatures that could break records across the region. This weather phenomenon is attributed to a strengthening high-pressure atmospheric system and easterly winds, which are set to elevate temperatures by 20 to 25 degrees above average, especially west of the mountains.
