Stanford Women’s Gymnastics Secures First ACC Regular-Season Title

BERKELEY, Calif. – The No. 10 Stanford women’s gymnastics team has made history by clinching the program’s inaugural regular-season Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) title. This remarkable achievement came after their impressive performance at the California Tri Meet, held at Haas Pavilion, where they outperformed No. 16 California and San Jose State.

Tri Meet Highlights: Stanford Dominates

Stanford’s standout performance yielded a team total of 197.625, surpassing California’s 197.075 and San Jose State’s 196.175. The Cardinal’s success was underscored by individual triumphs, with senior Anna Roberts winning the all-around competition with a score of 39.550.

Key Performers Shine

Sophomore gymnast Ui Soma clinched the vault title with a score of 9.925, while freshman Ana Bărbosu took home the beam title, also with a score of 9.925.

Event Breakdown: A Detailed Look at Stanford’s Scores

Stanford initiated the competition on the uneven bars, collectively earning 49.425. Redshirt freshman Levi Jung-Ruivivar set a strong tone with a score of 9.850. Junior Sienna Robinson followed suit with an impressive 9.925. Roberts contributed a score of 9.900, while both Bărbosu and Soma added scores of 9.875.

On the balance beam, Stanford achieved a team score of 49.375, led by Bărbosu’s winning score of 9.925. Senior Claire Dean opened the rotation with a 9.825, followed by strong performances from juniors Temple Landy and Robinson with scores of 9.875 and 9.850 respectively. Roberts and Bărbosu capped the beam event with scores of 9.900 and 9.925.

Stanford’s floor exercise also demonstrated excellence with a team total of 49.375. Jung-Ruivivar began with a score of 9.900, contributing to the overall performance alongside anchor sophomore Alana Walker. Robinson provided a strong score of 9.875, while senior Taralyn Nguyen added 9.825. Walker ended the rotation with another 9.900.

The vault event proved to be the highlight, showcasing Stanford’s strength with their highest team score of 49.450. Soma’s 9.925 earned her the vault title, accompanied by strong performances from Roberts, sophomore Jaime Dugan, and freshman Summer Gronski, each scoring 9.875. Nguyen capped the event with a vital score of 9.900, marking her fourth score of 9.900 or higher this season.
