California Classic: No. 2 Cal Rowing Set to Shine This Weekend

The No. 2 California Golden Bears men’s rowing team is ready to make waves as they co-host the much-anticipated California Classic alongside No. 9 Stanford. This two-day invitational is set to unfold at Redwood Shores, drawing top programs from across the nation, including No. 15 Wisconsin, No. 19 Temple, No. 21 Oregon State, No. 24 UC San Diego, and No. 25 Santa Clara.

Event Timing and Streaming

Races will kick off at 9 a.m. PT on both Saturday and Sunday mornings, allowing fans to witness thrilling competition live. Stream the races online and catch real-time updates with live results here.

Competing Teams and Schedule

The California Golden Bears will showcase their first through sixth varsity eights in several duals against formidable opponents. This will mark the first competitive outing for all of Cal’s boats in nearly a month, following impressive performances at the San Diego Crew Classic last weekend, where the fourth varsity eight clinched victories in both the Men’s Collegiate Varsity 8+ Cal Cup and the Men’s Open 8+ Anderson Borthwick Memorial Trophy events.

Cal is coming off a triumphant sweep at the Redwood Shores Invitational, where they achieved a remarkable 11 head-to-head wins against Oregon State, Santa Clara, and UCSD.

Saturday AM:

  • 9:20 a.m. – Cal 1V8+ vs. Wisconsin 1V8+
  • 9:30 a.m. – Cal 4V8+ vs. Santa Clara 1V8+
  • 9:50 a.m. – Cal 5V8+ vs. UCSD 2V8+
  • 10:00 a.m. – Cal 2V8+ vs. Wisconsin 2V8+
  • 10:10 a.m. – Cal 6V8+ vs. Santa Clara 2V8+
  • 10:30 a.m. – Cal 3V8+ vs. Wisconsin 3V8+

Saturday PM:

  • 2:20 p.m. – Cal 1V8+ vs. Temple 1V8+
  • 2:30 p.m. – Cal 2V8+ vs. Oregon State 1V8+
  • 3:00 p.m. – Cal 3V8+ vs. Oregon State 2V8+
