Montana State Track & Field Competes in California Meets

BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Montana State track and field team is set for an exciting weekend in California, participating in multiple meets from Thursday to Saturday. This trip marks the second occasion this month that the Bobcats have ventured to the Golden State, aiming to gather valuable competition experience before the postseason.

Upcoming Events and Locations

The Bobcats will compete in four events:

  • Bryan Clay Invitational (Azusa Pacific University): April 16-18
  • Pacific Coast Invitational (Long Beach State University): April 16
  • Beach Invite (Also at Long Beach State): April 17-18
  • Mt. SAC Relays: April 18

This weekend will be the last instance this season where the Bobcats split their team to compete in multiple locations, providing athletes with diverse competitive environments and the opportunity to achieve personal records.

The action begins on Thursday, with athletes Matt Furdyk and Ben Parks kicking off the Pacific Coast Invitational in the men’s hammer throw at 9 a.m. MT. Shortly thereafter, at 12:15 p.m. MT, the Bobcats will field a team in the 4×100-meter relay, featuring standout runners like Peyton Garrison and Caroline Hawkes.

On the same day, the Bryan Clay Invitational will see Hailey Watkins taking part in the women’s 10,000 meters at 10:30 a.m. MT.

Competition will carry on through Friday and Saturday, with various athletes entering the Beach Invite and Mt. SAC Relays.
