This exciting event encourages outdoor enthusiasts across California to share their favorite parks, and voting is currently open.

Rachel Norton, the executive director of the California State Parks Foundation, emphasized the importance of this poll, calling it a wonderful way for residents to express their love for diverse parks throughout the state. “Whether you seek a beach day, a hike through redwood trees, or a historical exploration, we invite you to participate and vote for your favorite state park,” she stated.
Anza-Borrego and Carlsbad: The Local Nominees
This year, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park has garnered nominations in three categories: best for camping, hiking, and viewing wildflowers. Meanwhile, Carlsbad State Beach competes for the title of best beach.
According to the foundation, during spring, Anza-Borrego can transform after sufficient rainfall, offering visitors spectacular wildflower views ranging from desert lilies to blooming ocotillo.
Previous Recognitions in 2025
San Diego County has previously showcased outstanding parks, with Anza-Borrego being recognized as the best for wildflower viewing. Additionally, Torrey Pines State Beach took home the title for the best picnic spot, offering stunning ocean views and serene coastal experiences.
The statement from the California State Parks Foundation noted that “With sweeping ocean views, golden cliffs, and the sound of waves just steps away, Torrey Pines State Beach provides an unforgettable backdrop for a seaside picnic.”

In the inaugural poll of 2025, over 1,300 individuals participated, sharing their photos, personal stories, and memories about why their chosen parks are beloved destinations.
