Rain Forecast: Possibility of Showers Returning to Southern California

Southern California is bracing for a return of rain on Thursday and Friday, following a streak of warm weather.

Weather Overview

According to the National Weather Service, a low-pressure system is advancing toward the region from the coast, signaling a significant cooldown. Temperatures are anticipated to drop by approximately 15 degrees, bringing a refreshing change after days of warmth.

Rainfall Predictions

CBS LA chief meteorologist Paul Deanno reports that the storm will begin its descent down the coast and move inland toward San Diego on Thursday. Southern California can expect light rain throughout the day, particularly in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The highest likelihood of rainfall is projected from Thursday morning through the evening, with some lingering showers possibly extending into Friday morning.

While the expected rainfall totals are relatively modest—around 0.25 inches or less—precautions are advised. Minor road issues could arise due to increased traffic delays and isolated rockslides.

Weekend Outlook

Conditions are set to improve over the weekend, with drying weather anticipated. By early next week, residents can expect temperatures to rise once again, signaling a return to warmer conditions.

Conclusion

Stay informed about the upcoming weather changes and potential rain in Southern California. For more details on the forecast, refer to the National Weather Service. Prepare for minor disruptions but look forward to more seasonal warmth as the weekend approaches.
