Upcoming Weather Forecast: Scattered Showers and a Winter Storm

As we head into the week, the weather landscape is set for significant changes, particularly in Southern Oregon and Northern California. Here’s what to expect in the upcoming days.

Tonight’s Weather

This Monday night, expect spotty to scattered showers continuing throughout the evening. Overcast skies will prevail, with temperatures dipping to the mid-40s in the westside valleys. If you’re in Northern California, expect lows around the mid-30s to lower 40s, while coastal areas will see temperatures in the 40s.

Tuesday: A Rainy Day Ahead

Tomorrow, Tuesday, the region will see more scattered showers, particularly along and east of the Cascades. Snow levels are anticipated to lower to 6,000 feet, meaning that even higher mountain passes may predominantly experience rain. A few isolated thunderstorms could develop in the afternoon, notably around Lake County.

Temperature Expectations

  • Westside Valleys: Highs in the lower 60s
  • Eastside Regions: Temperatures reaching the lower to mid-60s
  • Coastal Areas: Expect highs to remain cooler, around the lower to mid-50s

The Upcoming Winter Storm

The weather pattern shifts significantly as we move into Wednesday. A potent winter storm is on the horizon, promising more extensive rain and higher elevation snow across the region. The heaviest rainfall is expected along the coast, providing valuable moisture for various areas.

Strong Winds Expected

Along with the rain and snow, wind gusts will increase, particularly in higher terrain and eastside regions.

Important Weather Alerts

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued from 5 AM Wednesday to 5 PM Thursday for the Cascades and Siskiyous. Click here for alerts and keep updated on any changes.

Snow and Rain: What to Expect Thursday

As the storm system progresses into Thursday, we can anticipate persistent rain and snow showers across the area. However, residents can look forward to drier conditions by Good Friday with a gradual clearing of clouds.

Easter Weekend Forecast

Easter weekend is shaping up to be pleasant, with drier weather and increasing temperatures. Enjoy some sunshine as the spring season officially begins!
