Marian Kaanon Appointed Chairwoman of the League of California Community Foundations

The Stanislaus Community Foundation (SCF) has announced that its President and CEO, Marian Kaanon, has been appointed as the new Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for the League of California Community Foundations (LCCF). This esteemed position signifies a commitment to enhancing collaboration among California’s community foundations, which number over 40 statewide.

Founded in 1994, the LCCF serves as a pivotal organization focused on strengthening community foundations across California. By fostering collaboration and sharing resources, the LCCF aims to boost local efforts addressing community needs throughout the state. The League’s strategic initiatives emphasize key focus areas such as Disaster Resilience, Housing, and Local News & Journalism.

Kaanon’s Leadership Journey

Marian Kaanon’s journey within the League began in 2024 when she was appointed as Secretary of the Board. In 2025, she progressed to the role of Vice President before taking on her current responsibilities as Chair. Her leadership experience and dedication to community development uniquely position her to drive the strategic direction of the LCCF.
